Mariana Viollaz

Welcome to my website! I'm a Senior Researcher at Centro de Estudios Distributivos, Laborales y Sociales (CEDLAS, Argentina) and an IZA Research Fellow.

My research interests are in Development, Labor and Gender Economics. I'm currently working on (i) the impacts of the extension of the availability of full-time elementary schools on divorces and time allocation in Mexican households; (ii) how gender norms change with fluctuations in economic conditions; (iii) participation of women in the Economics profession in Argentina (project selected as part of the IEA - Women in Economics initiative); and (iv) the relationship between female leadership and climate change in Brazil (project selected by the GDLab-IDB).
